    Top Rug Grippers

Loose rugs cause a lot of falls. The goal is simple: keep the corners flat and stop the rug from sliding.

For maximum safety and trip prevention, Home Techpro V-Shaped Rug Grippers are the top-rated choice on Amazon due to their washable adhesive, low-profile design, and ease of installation.

Pro Tip: Wipe both the floor and the back of the rug corner with rubbing alcohol before applying to ensure the strongest possible stickiness.

    Pros

    • A rug that slides or curls is a common trip hazard
    • Corner grippers are cheap and easy to put on
    • Most can be washed or wiped and used again
    • Thin pads stay out of the way underfoot
    • They work well on hardwood, tile, and vinyl

    Cons

    • They do not hold well on a dirty floor or a dusty rug back
    • Some adhesives fail on jute, rubber, or fluffy rug backs
    • Strong stickers can be hard to peel off if you have weak hands
    • Corner grippers help the edges, but a large rug may still shift in the middle
    • These do not make a thick, bunched rug safe. If a rug keeps folding, remove it

    Who each one is for

    • Everyday hard floors and curled corners: Home Techpro V-shaped grippers
    • A high-traffic rug that keeps moving: Gorilla Grip
    • People who want to wash and restick the pads: Rabenda triangle grippers
    • Tile, stone, or vinyl, or a larger anti-slip pad under the rug: Veken

    My recommendation
If a rug in a walkway moves or the corner turns up, fix that this week. Start with V-shaped or triangle corner grippers on all four corners. Clean the floor and the rug back first.

If the whole rug still slides, use a full non-slip pad underneath. And if the rug is old, thick, and keeps bunching, the safest choice is to take it up.
